About the game Outfoxed
Outfoxed is a charming new game from designer Phil Walker-Harding. It’s a light-hearted take on the classic whodunit, with players taking on the role of foxes who are trying to solve a mystery. The main protagonist of the game is the Tricky Fox. He committed a terrible atrocity – he stole a delicious pie and fled in the direction of the burrow. But which of the many foxes inhabiting the forest is the culprit? This is a big mystery that must be solved immediately! Outfoxed is a great game for family and friends, with plenty of laughs to be had along the way. If you’re looking for a lighthearted Game to brighten up your day, Outfoxed is the perfect choice.
What is included in the game
Inside the box, there is a huge amount of everything. Your eyes are open to it. And they light up with anticipation of an interesting pastime. After all, as you know, the more props, the more elaborate, unconventional and exciting the game promises to be. The cards are of two kinds. 16 suspects and 16 cards with the names of foxes.
We will have 16 suspects, but only one name card is needed for the game. The thief’s name will be written on it, but we won’t know it until the finale. Three dice, on which you will not see any numbers. Only images of a keen eye – or a trace of someone’s treacherous paw. 12 clue tokens, each with a special feature (beads, hat, etc.) that will help you find the culprit. So let’s start playing and figure out who stole the poor chicken!
The rules of the game
The rules of the game are detailed in the attached instructions. To start the game it is necessary to carry out the following actions sequentially:
- Place the playing field in the middle of the table, so that everyone can reach it comfortably and there is free space on all sides.
- The figure of the fox should be placed in a special cell at the edge of the playing field (marked with a painted figure of a fox in a tuxedo and a cylinder).
- Place the Sherlock Holmes hat-shaped detective chips in a specially outlined yellow square of four cells in the center of the board.
- Place the Suspects cards around the playing field, four on each side with the back side up.
- Turn any two of the Suspect cards face up (to reveal the foxes there).
- Take any card from the Fox deck (do not look at it) and insert it into the decoder. The rest of the cards from this deck can be hidden back in the box, you won’t need them anymore.
- The decoder should be closed with a latch, turned upside down, and set aside for now.
- Place the evidence tokens on the large trace symbols scattered on the playing field (back side up).
Now the playing field is completely ready and you can proceed directly to the game, but you need to know the rules. Before starting the game, it is worth carefully studying the instructions.
